2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Review

2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a full-size pickup truck offered in standard, extended and crew cab body styles.

The regular cabs had be had in Work and mid level LT trims, while the plush LTZ trim is also available in extended and crew cabs.

The LS trim is available on extended and crew cab only.

New for 2010

Silverado 1500 with 5.3-L V8 engine receives tweaks that deliver incrementally better fuel economy including variable valve timing and standard 6-speed transmission. All V8s can run on gasoline as well as E85.

Some of the safety features like side curtain airbags, stability control, and front-side airbags are now standard on all models. For 2010, Silverado has dropped the 6.0-liter V8 engine.

Engine Specs

There are 4 different engine choices are available for Silverado 1500 for the year 2010.

The trim Work is featured with a standard 4.3-L V6 engine that delivers 195 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. This can be upgraded to a 315 hp 5.3-L V8 or 295 hp 4.8-L V8 engine.

The LS features only a 4.8-L V8 engine. The LTZ and LT trims, depending on body style will have one of these two V8 engine as standard.

An optional 403 hp 6.2-liter V8 engine is offered on selected models.

A four-speed auto transmission is standard on the base and V6 engines. 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 6.2 and 5.3-L V8 engine receive a 6-speed automatic gear transmission.
