The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS was built by General Motors and followed by Dodge and Ford in all aspects. The 1500 SS was more powerful than the basic Silverado 1500. A 6.0-liter V8 engine was used by the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS with a power output of 345 hp and a torque of 380 pound-feet.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS had a pickup of 0-60 mph within 6.3 seconds. With a dignified appearance, it had high speed like the Ram SRT-10 and Lightning. The 1500 SS was also very expensive. Though pricey, it had more advanced features than regular Silverados to match the price. Hence, it was worth the money invested.

2004-2006 Chevy Silverado

During 2004-’06, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 SS’s new version, the extended-cab model was produced, but, in the year 2007 it was launched under the label “Silverado 1500 SS Classic.” The important modifications included rear drum brakes and a switch over to rear-wheel drive for 2006, and early conventional equipment.

Except for the engine, the Silverado SS distinguished itself from standard Silverado; it was featured with a standard all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels, SS-specific rear and front bumpers, a limited-slip differential bumpers, and a stiffened suspension.
