Generally, the oxygen sensor is mounted on the exhaust system. These are located in the engine exhaust main folds and beside of the muffler. After muffler, one cannot find any other oxygen sensor. Any vehicle should have minimum four oxygen sensors.
The Setup of Oxygen Sensors
All oxygen sensors are named as bank 1…4 and the location of these sensors is as follows.
Bank 1 sensor 1 – it is placed at the driver’s side and in front of catalyst converter. Similarly, bank 1 sensor 2 also at driver’s side, but after catalyst converter.
The bank 2 sensor 1 is placed on passenger side just before catalyst converter, whereas bank2 sensor 2 is located at passenger’s side, but after the catalyst converter.
