2005 Chevrolet Silverado was available in regular, extended and crew cab styles. Extended cabs had rear hinged back doors which did not open independent of front doors, while the Crew Cabs had four conventional doors.

Seating Arrangements

Both the models include a rear bench seat capable of seating 3 persons and have front bucket seats and also a bench. Extended cabs and regulars are designed with an 8 feet and 6.6 feet fleet side cargo beds or sport side flare fender box of 6.6 feet. Crew cabs makes use of a fleet side box of 5.8 feet and will roughly match the short box of extended cabs in the overall length.

Changes in 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Power-Train

Both extended cabs and regulars came with a 4.3 liter V6 engine and an optional 5.3 liter V8 engine, while crew cabs included a 5.3 liter engine. A 5.3 liter V8 engine, which produced 310hp, was a fresh option for the short box extendeds; it had power output above the normal level of 295 horsepower.

The standard transmission type was automatic except on regulars, but 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was optionally available with manual transmission with V6 engine and a V8 engine with 4.8 liter. Traction control for the vehicle is available with a rear wheel drive. All the Silverado models were equipped with anti lock brakes, and other safety amenities.
